Global Care Quest Named Finalist in QUALCOMM
Healthcare software developer’s ICIS Mobile system among five candidates for top honors in Business Innovation, Technical Innovation, Embedded Deployment, International Pioneer and Best of Show
ALISO VIEJO, Calif.- Advanced healthcare information systems developer Global Care Quest, Inc. (GCQ) has been named a finalist in QUALCOMM Incorporated’s 4th annual 3G A-List Awards which recognize innovative and successful commercial deployments of enterprise wireless data solutions based on 3G CDMA standards. GCQ is one of five finalists in the event’s “Business Innovation, Technical Innovation, Embedded Deployment, International Pioneer and Best of Show” category. The company received the honor for its mobile Integrated Clinical Information System (ICIS Mobile) which allows physicians access to a wide range of patient data such as clinical notes, X-Rays, CT scans and realtime telemetry from bedside monitoring equipment over high speed wireless and mobile phone networks.
“Being named as a finalist in the 3G A-List Awards is very significant,” said Global Care Quest CEO Cleve Adams. “Our focus is giving doctors access to the patient information they need to make critical care decisions no matter where they are. When a physician is 45 minutes from the hospital being able to use a smartphone to see the patient’s medical information, X-Rays or realtime vitals as if he were standing bedside can literally be the difference between life and death. Having a leading firm like QUALCOMM recognize what we’ve achieved with their 3G CDMA wireless technology is an incredible honor.”
Hosted by QUALCOMM, the 3G A-List Awards program honors outstanding wireless implementations that demonstrate innovation, creativity, overall positive business impact and how the winning company or organization exceeded business objectives by introducing higher return on investment, reducing operating expenses or increasing customer satisfaction. After receiving nominations from a diverse roster of companies, public agencies and non-profit organizations, QUALCOMM selected 22 finalists that exemplify operational efficiency using 3G CDMA. The winning solutions in each category will be unveiled during a private reception on Tuesday, September 12th during the CTIA Wireless I.T.® & Entertainment 2006 conference in Los Angeles.
For GCQ, the3G A-List Awards nomination is the latest in what has already been an eventful year for the 20 person company. In the past 9 months GCQ completed an extremely successful pilot at UCLA Medical Center; was named a “Company to Watch in 2006″ by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine; launched two new products; secured $5 million in venture financing; and landed three significant hospital installations.
“As young as GCQ is, even being nominated for a 3G A-List Award, never mind being a finalist, is more than we expected,” Adams said. “We were having a pretty good year up to this point, but I think we can safely say that we are now having a great year.”
